พระครูพิพิธวรกิจ(คล้อย อโนโม) เกิดเมื่อวันที่ ๙ กุมภาพันธุ์ ๒๔๗๒(ขึ้น ๑๑ ค่ำเดือน๓)ปีมะเส็ง อายุครบ๗ รอบ(๘๔ ปี พรรษา ๖๒) นามเดิมคล้อยทองโอ่ บิดาชื่อ นาย แสง ทองโอ่ มารดาชื่อ นางเอียด ทองโอ่ เกิดที่ ต. มะกอกเหนือ อ.คานขนุน จ.พัทลุงจบประถม๔ ที่รร.วัดไทรงาม ต.นาตุง อ.ควนขนุน จ.พัทลุง เมื่อถึงวัยบวชเรียน ท่านได้บรรพชาเป็นสามเณร เมื่อวันที่ ๑๕ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ๒๔๙๑ ณ วัดดอนศาลา ต.มะกอกเหนือ อ.ควนขนุน จ.พัทลุง พระอุปัชฌาย์คือ พระครูสิทธิยารัตน์(พระอาจารย์เอียด)และได้อุปสมบทเป็นพระภิกษุ เมื่อขึ้นปีขาลวันที่๑ มีนาคม พ.ศ๒๔๙๓ ณ วัดควนปันตาราม
ต.ปันเต อ.ควนขนุน จ.พัทลุง โดยมีพระครูรัตนาภิรัตเป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ พระมหาเจิมฐิตเปโต เป็นพระกรรมวาจาจารย์ หลังบวชเรียนแล้วได้ศึกษาจนสอบได้นักธรรมเอกจากสำนักวัดดอนศาลาเมื่อปี พ.ศ๒๔๙๗ ต่อมาได้เป็นครูสอนนักธรรมตรี แผนกวัดภูเขาทอง ตั้งแต่ปีพ.ศ๒๕0๑จนถึงปัจุบัน ปีพ.ศ ๒๕๑๘ได้รับตำแหน่งเป็นเจ้าคณะ ต.มะกอกเหนือ ปีพ.ศ ๒๕๒๒ ได้รับพระราชทานเลื่อนสมณศักดิ์เป็นพระครูพิพิธวรกิจ ปี พ.ศ ๒๕๔๒ ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็นเจ้าคณะ อ.ควนคนุน ปี พ.ศ๒๕๔๖ ถึงปัจจุบันดำรงสมณศักดิ์เป็นเจ้าคณะ อ.ควนขนุน(ชั้นเอก)
แม้นว่าหลวงพ่อคล้อย จะได้รับการยอมรับยกย่องจากชาวไทยและชาวต่างประเทศว่า ท่านเป้นพระเกจิสายใต้ ที่มีวิชาอาคมแก่กล้า เข้มขลังเอกอุ มีอาวุโสสูงในสายเขาอ้อ(ตักศิลาทางไสยเวทย์ของเมืองไทย)แต่ด้านการสอนสั่งในพุทธศาสนาท่านก็ไม่เคยเว้น ยึดแนวตามคำสั่งสอนขององค์พระสัมาสัมพุทธเจ้า คือท่านสอนพุทธศาสนิกชนทุกคนจงใช้สติ ระลึกได้ก่อนกระทำ พูดคิดและมีสติสัมปชัญญะรู้ตัวขณะทำ เดินสายกลางและมีเมตตาต่อสรรพสัตว์ทั้งหลาย ตลอดเวลากว่า๕๔ ปี ที่หลวงพ่อคล้อยได้ดำรงตำแหน่งเจ้าอาวาส ท่านได้พัฒนาวัดภูเขาทองอย่างต่อเนื่องไม่เคยว่างเว้น เสนาสนะแทบทุกอย่างภายในวัดภูเขาทอง อาทิ อุโบสถ ศาลาการปรียญ เมรุ กุฎิสงฆ์ กำแพงแก้ง หอระฆัง ฯลฯ ล้วนเกิดจากความมีวิริยะอุตสาหะของท่านทั้งสิ้นแต่การเวลาเนิ่นนานย่อมทำให้เสนาสนะและสิ่งปลูกสร้างต่างๆภายในวัด เกิดการเสื่อมสภาพ ต้องได้รับการฟื้นฟูบูรณะปฎิสังขรณ์ให้มีความงดงาม สามารถใช้ประกอบพิธีกรรมทางศาสนาได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ โดยท่านได้อนุญาตให้มีการจัดสร้าง วัตถุมงคล รุ่น"สัตตมงคล" (๗รอบมหามงคล) เพื่อหาปัจจัยในการบูรณะอุโบสถ ท่านหวังไว้ว่าอนาคตอันใก้ลนี้ จะได้ประกอบพิธีผูกพัทธสีมาและฝังลูกนิมิตอุโบสถให้แล้วเสร็จ เป็นการร่วมบุญส่งเสริมและสืบทอดพระศาสนาให้มีความยั่งยืนจึงบอกบุญมายังพุทธศาสนิกชนที่มีจิตศรัทธา ได้ร่วมบุญในครั้งนี้ด้วย
